5 Things to keep in mind when booking a limo

Updated: Nov 12, 2018

  1. Don’t let price be your only guide

One of the most common mistakes people make when looking for a limousine (for prom, a wedding, or whatever the occasion) is letting price be the key determinant. Just as in any other industry, there are many different levels of quality and price, and what is very important to know as a passenger, is that in the limousine industry, a bargain deal can often mean a greater risk to you. Here at Orlando Limo, all of our drivers are not only experienced and licensed, but we also perform spot checks with “mystery shoppers” and random drug tests, in order to guarantee the safety of our passengers. Also, we take pride in our fleet and maintaining clean and safe vehicles, which is why they are always serviced regularly, and carry the proper insurance.

  1. Book Early

This is especially important if you’re booking for prom, Valentine’s Day, New Year’s Eve, race weeks and other busy dates. Waiting until the eleventh hour means your preferred transportation might be either unavailable, or much more expensive, as prices tend to go up at the last minute. With Orlando Limo, there’s another reason to book early: we offer up to 50% book-early discount for special events when booking at least 30 days before your trip, check our website for the special offers!

  1. Ask about insurance and permits

One of the worst ways in which limo companies try to cut corners is by trying to save money by not getting permits, or insurance coverage. While this could potentially save them a lot of money, it is an illegal practice and also a very dangerous one. Imagine you rent a limo for a lovely evening with your friends, you get in an accident, and the company doesn’t have insurance to cover your medical costs. Or in the case that you book a limo to take you from the airport, and the driver cannot come inside to greet you. Orlando Limo has more than the required insurance, and is permitted at Orlando-Sanford International Airport (SFB), Orlando International Airport (MCO), Port Canaveral Cruise Port, and in the city Orlando.

  1. Get a written confirmation

Any serious limousine company will not only be glad to provide you with a written confirmation, they will insist to provide you with a confirmation of your reservation. At Orlando Limo you always get your unique confirmation number at the end of the booking, and a summary of your reservation details will be sent out to you with the confirmation email you receive from us.

  1. Determine how much time you will need

The most common was to rent a limousine is by the hour, and since you’re paying for the time, you want to make sure that you schedule for enough time that you’re not rushed, but still not more time than you will actually need. Many limousine companies have a minimum amount of hours that you can book for. While Orlando Limo offers the traditional hourly service as well, we also do transfers. If you for instance just want a glamorous ride to the airport, or an extra luxurious pick up after your Caribbean cruise, you shouldn’t have to pay for hours you won’t be using.
